Dear Michelle,
I’m hooked! I thought about doing your October KAL- Namesake, but then I looked at the queue on my Ravelry site and decided that I was way too busy to make a cowl. My sister, Lis, already had her yarn, Simplinatural in Cabernet, and declared herself all in. But I stuck by my original, final decision and continued to just say no!
But then, I…touched…the…yarn….! You got me — hook, line and sinker!
I’m all in! Bought my yarn at Apple Yarns in Bellingham. (BTW, it’s on sale on their website and in the store!) WhenClaudia introduced me to Simpliniatural, I fell in love with almost every color! It took some time and thought and angst, but I settled on the Deep Turquoise.
Michelle, I’m crazy about your KALs! My first mystery KAL was the April Hole Story Shawl KAL in Rylie by Hikoo — what a wonderful first for me!
Of course I just had to try the next one – the Corkscrew Hat in Seahawk colors!
I then asked my granddaughter, Finn, if she wanted one in Cornell University colors, crimson and white. I also showed her your Corkscrew Mittens, thinking perhaps she would like matching hat and mittens. She opted for the mittens only. So mitten #1 is on the needles!
So now I’m in for the October KAL – Namesake. Part of the fun is not knowing a darn thing about the pattern — just the yarn requirements and needle size. But the most fun and satisfaction comes from learning new techniques and pushing my skill level forward!
Michelle, your patterns are wonderful — very well-written, classic yet unique designs. I can trust that your mystery projects won’t be off-the-wall, radical, never-wear FOs. Your videos are essential — clear and concise, yet very instructive. I have learned so many things from your videos, too numerous to list! Finally, your blog and Ravelry pages are the most supportive, interactive tools around. You answer all questions, brainstorm to solve problems, and motivate and encourage all levels of knitters.
In two words, Michelle Hunter — You Rock!
Sincerely,
Gretchen, the Twisted Stitcher
