A Yarn Hoarder’s Nirvana

In just three minutes I was deep in the throws of yarn lust. And after 15 minutes, I was on overload! Thus began my five-hour adventure with my friend Pat at Vogue Knitting Live! in Seattle. With yarn hanging from the ceiling and wrapping the ropes separating the registration lines, I was sucked in immediately… and we were still in the sample-laden lobby!

Then we entered the Marketplace and feasted our eyes on this —

From that point on, I was in heaven! We toured the Marketplace, stopping at every vendor’s booth, touching and stroking thousands of skeins of yarn, trying out needles, perusing books, accessories, and patterns. And of course, (did I mention the yarn?) lusting after the yarns — from the gorgeous, 100% silk, fingering, 125 yards for $75.00 to the awesome 100% superwash merino, Pebble Sock yarn, hand-dyed in colorway Hedwig by Black Trillium for under $25.00. I just had to buy this one.  It looks like birch bark when knit up!

And then there were the three fashion shows! There were more, but we just watched three. The garments ranged from the ridiculous to the sublime and once again proved that just because you can doesn’t mean you should! I only snapped photos during the first show. After that one, I put the camera away and just drooled over everything else! Overall, the fashion shows were downright inspiring!
