Can’t See the Forest for the Trees!

Every once in a while I have the overwhelming need to stop knitting, stand back and assess where the hell I’m headed! That urge took over at 9:07 this morning as I was sitting in one of my favorite knitting spots and couldn’t take my eyes off the mess on the ottoman at my feet!

The only completed thing in the pile was sock #1 for Richard — well, technically only half done!

One project remains in total hibernation and isn’t scheduled to reappear until August, but it has a completion date of “sometime in October” — I’m aiming for the 31st!

Another project is temporarily resting while I try to figure out if I like the way the neck is coming together. Currently looks as though there may be holes at the neckline where I’ll be picking up stitches because of the way the pattern calls for decreasing at the neck edge. Claudia, HELP!

Then there’s the Purple Sweater for Michele that has been languishing at my feet for what seems like forever! When I checked it out, I realized that I only had 3/4 of the final sleeve to do and the project will be DONE — except for blocking, of course! So this sweater came to the top of the heap — goal is to complete it today!!

Of course, when I finish this sweater it will be time to start the Michelle Hunter KAL Mystery Hat which starts on July 3rd. I’m doing  one in Seahawks colors!

And as soon as I finish Richard’s second sock, I’ll cast on another pair of socks. This time it will be Purple Socks in Dyeabolical Yarns “Viola Overboard” for my sister-in-law, Jean. Always gotta have socks on the needles!

Now I feel better! I have a bit of a road map for my knitting — Purple Sweater, Socks for Richard, Mystery Hat KAL, White Sweater, Socks for Jean, Couch Potato Blanket, and then the 37 other trees patiently waiting in my forest!
