We had a blast last evening at Safeco Field in Seattle (even though Baltimore beat the Mariners, 4 – zip!). It was the annual Stitch ‘n Pitch night for the Mariners. While almost every major league baseball team has a Stitch ‘n Pitch night, the Mariners were the first to hold one back on July 28, 2005. Since then it has grown from several hundred to a couple thousand knitters!
Those of us from the knit group at Apple Yarns wore our Knitted Knockers t-shirts (Thanks, Andrea and Andrew!) and had so much fun telling folks about knittedknockers.org and directing them to the booth! Big shout out to the Seattle Knitters Guild who will be knitting knockers for their charity knit!!
Of course we couldn’t resist doing a little shopping at our second favorite yarn store, Tolt Yarn and Wool, where we fell in love with YOTH Yarns’ Little Brother fingering-weight yarn and the Imagine When shawl! What a great color selection. You can see the shawl on the mannequin over my shoulder.
As usual Pat debated colors and finally settled on the yarn used for the store sample! Lovely!
We also found some yummy alpaca yarn and we had to eye the colors and touch the softness. Pat got just a little carried away with what she thought was a llama!
During the game we knit knockers and talked knitting with all the knitters seated around us. We cheered, sang, laughed, knit and generally had a blast!
A great time was had by all! Can’t wait for next year’s Stitch ‘n Pitch! Oh, and I’m half way on my green knocker!
