DONE — Physical Therapy with Alex. Good thing because if Alex had reminded me how old I am just one more time, I’d have thrown the hand putty at him! But seriously, he’s the best hand therapist around and we three had a great time!
DONE — Two Pressed Rib Hats for Captain Michael and the newest crew member of the “Kelley J,” completed just two days before they leave for salmon season on Bristol Bay.
Claudia, my knitting, crocheting, pattern designing, and all-things-yarn-guru friend, (she’s the go-to-gal at Apple Yarns!) really bailed me out on this one. I had finished hat one and she showed me how to do the duplicate stitch for the lettering. I had three false starts over the next hour because my stitches were so uneven that it looked like hell. Claudia said that it just takes practice! But I didn’t have time to practice, so Claudia very kindly said that she would do the lettering. I completed the second hat and gave it to her two days later. In just one evening she completed both hats!! She is amazing!
Before I blocked that hats, I showed them to my favorite son-in-law, Eric, the newest crew member on the fishing boat. He loved the hats and his fit perfectly. Then he dropped the bomb — “But the name of the boat is misspelled!” After I came to and said a few swear words, I called Claudia and broke the news. In her usual calm manner, she said that it was no problem — she would redo them that day.
REDONE — and it all worked out —
And then there is the “OMG”: Will this second sock for Big Foot ever be DONE??
